An obscure early-season software glitch that put a damper on two of the neatest cross-country meets in Minnesota and more than a handful of unforced errors by our staff has made 2024 a year to, well not forget, but never replicate again.
Ok, so we had a bad year. What next? Well, we aren't closing up shop by any measure. Far from it! But what we are going to do is...
We are one of the few (I think) timers in Minnesota that still use our own program and write all of the code on their web site. But that is only a good thing if it is reliable. We have come to a place where the software programming is over. Our "stuff" does everything we need it to do. It's time to spend our time on other things...like not writing faulty code.
We also had a small issue with our road race awards screen early on. That was easily and quickly fixed!
We love our staff and we realize that everyone makes mistakes. But, in order to prevent mistakes of the nature that were made in 2024, we have cut back to three crews/trailers. It is much easier with a smaller staff to ensure their readiness and capability. That means we will do fewer races, but I would rather do fewer races well than more races with a higher likelihood of mistakes. It's NOT (just) about the Benjamins!
We are working on a finish line display option. No promises, but we are trying to make that happen.
For all school events (cross-country and Nordic...track and field results are hosted by A.net), we have added school logos to the results pages. If your logo is missing or you want it replaced with another one, send it to us. The closer to a square logo, the better.
